"Training You and Your Dog!"

"Training You and Your Dog!" "Training You and Your Dog!"

ABOUT US

In The Beginning...

It all started in 1969 when Alan got his very first German Shepherd.  In 1972, he donated her to the military to become a Military Working Dog with the stipulation he would be her handler after completing training.

This began an eleven-year journey in the military (U.S. Air Force & U.S. Marine Corps) where he would train and handle five (5) different dogs as a Patrol Dog and/or Bomb/Explosives Dog Handler working on stateside bases; in the American Embassy of several foreign countries and ending his service with HMX-1.

...And Today

After the loss of his GSD, Otto in 2016, (shown in top picture) Alan was now in need of a Service Dog to assist him with issues of anxiety and panic.  He went in search of a dog with a great personality and temperament to be used in this capacity and was blessed to have his current dog donated by a breeder.

Many hours of training have gone into the development of this wonderful animal as a "First Responder" in assisting with medical needs.  She not only assists with the anxiety & panic issues but also detects and alerts on blood sugar changes for his diabetes. (Szva, shown at right)

That said, it is so important to have a well-trained, well- mannered dog and for you to be a responsible dog owner if you are to have a happy home and a better community.   Not just Service Dogs, but also your pets and companions.  WhiteHaven Canine wants to help you achieve both of these goals.

Our Training Approach

We provide balanced training that builds confidence in your dog as he/she learns what is expected of them; not only in the home but in the real world on a daily basis. The anxiety most dogs feel comes from a feeling that they need to protect, lead, or they don't know what is expected of them.  This leads to much of the problems we see with clients and their dogs.

Too many dogs are either surrendered to shelters or "put down" due to disobedience or aggressiveness when these problems could be taken care of with training that not only teaches obedience, but instills calmness of mind.

Your Satisfaction Is Our Goal

With over sixteen years of working with dogs of all breeds, we are confident and are always prepared to assist you with your pets' training needs and ensure that you and your pet will receive the best care and love.  Your happiness and care is our priority and we strive to provide a service we would want our own pets to receive.
