Most of our Team Members are Veterans or have a military connection background (a military spouse or child growing up in the military family).  They understand that the Mission and Service we provide to our Veterans is badly needed.

Board Treasurer ~ Director of Advancement

Adrienne Hare 2021-23

Adrienne has spent her career in the non-profit and education arenas with experience in communications, community engagement & event planning for non-profits and board development & scholarship/grant processes for private foundations.

 

She and husband, Daniel, have 3 children and a standard Bernedoodle, named Waffles.

Board President / Executive Director / Founder

Alan White

Alan has 20+ years of Non-profit Management experience and 15+ years training dogs of all breeds; 11 years training/working dogs in the Air Force & Marine Corps where he completed service with HMX-1, the Presidential Helicopter Squadron. 


Szva (Zeeva) is Alan's personal Service Dog assisting with his diabetes & anxiety.

Board Member ~ Media Relations

Cierra Shipley 2021-23

Cierra currently works with the Waco Police Department as the Public Information Officer (PIO) and handles their day-to-day public communications with the media.  Previously working for KXXV-TV, ABC 25, Cierra was an Emmy-nominated Journalist. 


Originally from Arizona, Cierra and Ryan have now made Waco their home.  

Board Member

Matt Pirko 2022-24

Matt served in the US Air Force for 20 years before relocating back to Waco in 2010 with wife, Patty.  Prior to his current position with a government contractor, Matt was a Baylor grad and professor, specializing in cybersecurity. 


 Matt and Patty have two GSDs; Jack (4) and Ryder, a one-year old WhiteHaven graduate.

Board Secretary

Michael Dixon 2021-23

Michael works for the Midway Independent School District in the Waco area.  When he is not working, Michael enjoys shooting, gaming, going to the gym, and spending quality time with his family.


Michael is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of 10 years.

Board Member

Col. Michelle Bryant 2022-24

Michelle is currently serving with the Texas Army National Guard with the Deputy U. S. Property and Fiscal Office and has just completed 35 years of service. She is currently working on her Doctorate of Business Administration in Leadership.


Michelle and her husband, Brad, are the proud dog parents of 1-yr old Bella Kay

Board Vice-President

Nate Williams, MA, LPC 2021-23

With a Masters in Counseling from Denver Seminary and 24+ years experience at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Nate is now the Owner of Higher Directions Counseling in Waco.


Nate is a Disabled Air Force veteran of 4 years and is married with 2 grown daughters.


Nate is owned by Lucy, his diabetic alert Service Dog.

Board Member ~ Mental Health Consultant

Wendy Salazar, MA, LPC-S 2022 - 24

A Practice Manager in the field of Integrated Behavioral Health for 11+ years, she will be graduating with her Doctorate in 2022. 


Wendy provides program development & consultations, clinical supervision and oversight for doctoral psychology interns with Austin-Travis Co. Integral Care.


Wendy is mom to Hans Christian.

Humane Society of Central Texas Board Liaison to WhiteHaven

Zane Litle ~ Humane Society of Central Texas

Most days, you will find Zane at the Humane Society of Central Texas where she is an active volunteer and Board Member. 


A Kent State University Alum, where she graduated with honors, Zane is a former elementary school teacher. 


As a stay-at-home mom now, Zane devotes her time and attention to her family & community.
